Good news for VS fans and visual creators! We’re excited to announce the release of VS 1.8.0, a major update featuring key optimizations: a more synchronized and performant render engine, improved video recording with enhanced audio-visual sync. Your visuals are now sharper, smoother, and more dynamic than ever!

We’ve also introduced four new audio/MIDI demos for you to explore, along with support for the FLAC audio format. MIDI routing is now more flexible, allowing a single layer to receive MIDI from multiple channels. Plus, with the new note range filter, you can control which notes trigger each layer for more precise performance. To keep everything in check, the new layer info panel provides a clear overview of layer contents and MIDI routing at a glance.

And that’s not all – we’re thrilled to introduce Retro Riot, a stunning new expansion pack by Fernando Kopp. Inspired by ’80s synthwave and ’90s arcade culture, this pack blends glitchy textures, neon grids, and pixel distortions that react dynamically to music. Whether for live visuals, music videos, or digital art, Retro Riot brings an electrifying vintage-meets-modern aesthetic to your creations.
